There are some secrets of Hiring Managers that are not common knowledge. Among them is the fact that although the same salary may be offered to both men and women, women will usually accept the salary offered while men will negotiate. This will sometimes leave as much as $20,000 on the table. Some jobs are non-negotiable from the start, i.e., “entry-level positions”, but the rest are usually open for negotiation with not only salary, but vacation time and other benefits.
